Lavrov, speaking to students and teachers at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, said: “The President spoke about this in Vladivostok, at the Eastern Economic Forum. Interesting prospects, including in the economic field, such as LNG production in Alaska, and much more. In general, the Arctic opens a wide field for cooperation, and of course, in space.”
Lavrov pointed out that this should be built through “frank and open discussions about each party’s positions, identifying similarities that should be translated into practical actions, and preventing disagreements from escalating into conflict, especially if they are intense.”
He said: “I have no doubt in the possibility of establishing cooperation in the field of advanced technology, including artificial intelligence. Although in this field, given the potential military applications of artificial intelligence, it may first be necessary to enhance mutual trust.”
The Russian Foreign Minister added: “There are no limits to our joint endeavors and the application of our joint efforts, taking into account the alignment of interests.” The minister noted that there are no limits to the joint application of efforts and therefore, both parties can cooperate in the Arctic, space, sports, and other fields.
