The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in an official announcement on Tuesday that the visit of Li Qiang will take place from October 9 to 11. The visit comes at the invitation of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers’ Party and the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The statement mentioned that Li Qiang’s participation in this occasion reflects the depth of traditional relations between the two nations, emphasizing that the visit represents an opportunity to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand channels for political dialogue.
It also highlighted that the visit is part of efforts by both sides to strengthen the historical partnership between China and North Korea. During his visit to Beijing last month, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea intends to continuously deepen and develop relations with China, adding: “Regardless of changes in the international situation, the friendly relations between Beijing and Pyongyang will not change.”
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jia Kun stated that China is ready to enhance strategic interaction with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, expand exchanges and cooperation, deepen the exchange of experiences in general administration, and further promote the development of the socialist cause and the traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
