Netflix has unveiled the trailer for ‘The Witcher’ Season 4, featuring Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia, replacing Henry Cavill.
In the trailer, Hemsworth’s Geralt gathers a team of adventurers to search for his former apprentice, Ciri (Freya Allan).
Joining him are Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), the bard Jaskier (Joey Batey), newcomer Regis (Laurence Fishburne), and others, as they battle the dark forces of Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu).
The trailer shows Geralt battling various foes, including soldiers, a giant ogre-like creature, and a ghostly wraith.
“The Witcher is transforming. You are evolving into something new,” a voice ominously states. “How will you be reborn?” another asks.
This might hint at Hemsworth stepping in for Cavill, who left the series in October 2022, as Variety reported.
Cavill portrayed Geralt for three seasons, while Hemsworth will lead ‘The Witcher’ into its upcoming final seasons.
Netflix released the trailer on its Instagram page on Tuesday.
The Season 4 synopsis reads: “Following the Continent-changing events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri are separated by war and numerous foes. As they chart separate courses, they find unexpected allies eager to join them. If they embrace these newfound families, they might just reunite for good.”
The new season is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on October 30.
