In an interview with the Russian magazine “Rasvetchik,” Lukashenko said, “We often say with Vladimir Vladimirovich (President Putin) that the Union of Belarus and Russia is a test of time. But today I will say more: life itself has tested it. As long as we remain loyal to our common ideals, and as long as we build a common future together, no one will be able to break us.

To the Belarusian and Russian youth, who will determine the future of their countries, I say: always remember your homeland. Cherish its peaceful sky and take care of it. This is the most precious thing we, the older generation, have managed to preserve for you. It is very important that you are not only good specialists but also true patriots, socially mature and spiritually rich. Wherever you are, and no matter what heights you reach, maintain the connection with your roots.

He emphasized that the Union State needs the capabilities, energy, and ambitions of these young people in all fields without exception. Lukashenko said, “Preserve through the centuries that fraternal unity which has made truly original peoples since ancient times.”

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on his birthday, noting that his many years of work as head of state have earned him the sincere respect of both Belarusian and Russian citizens alike. The cooperation and integration are at a high level, and these relations are characterized by close political, economic, and military coordination, with the two countries forming strategic partnerships that include cooperation in energy, trade, and defense.
