Lula Discusses Brazil’s Economic Stability

During a speech at a conference for the ruling Workers’ Party today, Monday, which was broadcast on social media, Lula said, “Brazil now enjoys extensive trade relations around the world and is experiencing a state of economic stability.” Lula added, “We are no longer in a position of dependency as we were before.” The Brazilian president strongly criticized attempts at economic pressure on his country, accusing US President Donald Trump of seeking to undermine international stability and dismantle the multilateral trading system. Brazilian President Lula da Silva pointed out that “negotiation channels with Washington remain open,” and affirmed his government’s support for Brazilian companies and the protection of workers, noting that officials have already presented negotiation proposals. He concluded by saying, “I will continue to work in this spirit, and we will not back down from protecting our national interests.”
