Malaysian King Makes Historic Visit to Russia

The Malaysian King arrived in Moscow yesterday, Tuesday, at the invitation of the Russian President. He became the first King of Malaysia to make a state visit since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1967.

The Kremlin’s press office reported earlier today, Wednesday, that Russia and Malaysia share similar positions on many global and regional issues and interact effectively in the United Nations and other multilateral formats.

The Kremlin’s press office added: “Malaysia is a reliable partner of Russia, tested over time in the Asia-Pacific region, a trusted member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and a leader in the Islamic world.”

According to the statement from the Malaysian royal palace, the Malaysian King’s visit program includes a meeting with President Putin, other official events, as well as visits to the Central Research Institute for Automobiles and Engines (NAMI) and the Tochka Kipeniya Center for Technology and Innovation.
