Moscow – Sputnik. The newspaper, citing three diplomats familiar with the plans who were not named, pointed out that participants in the meeting had met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington. The mentioned leaders participated in a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington on August 18 to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, which U.S. President Donald Trump said would be outside the framework of NATO.

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that any scenario of deploying forces from NATO member countries on Ukrainian territory is absolutely unacceptable for Russia and warns of a sharp escalation.

The ministry had previously described statements made in Britain and other European countries about the possibility of deploying a force from alliance countries in Ukraine as an incitement to continue hostilities.
