Stranger Things and Enola Holmes star Millie Bobby Brown is poised for a new career-defining role.
Brown is reportedly in final negotiations to portray Olympic gymnast Kerri Strug in the forthcoming Netflix film Perfect, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Directed by Gia Coppola, the film will narrate the journey of the US women’s gymnastics team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Dubbed the “Magnificent Seven,” the team clinched its inaugural gold medal in the team event. Strug captured global attention by completing a vault with an injured ankle, and her coach Bela Karolyi famously carried her to the podium, a defining moment in Olympic lore.
Brown is also anticipated to join the film’s production team. The screenplay is crafted by Ronnie Sandahl, with producers Nik Bower of Riverstone Pictures and Thomas Benski of Magna Studios. Netflix is eyeing a 2026 start for filming.
Meanwhile, Brown’s fans are eagerly looking forward to the final season of her acclaimed Netflix series Stranger Things, premiering in two months.
The upcoming season will be unveiled in three parts, each aligning with holiday weekends: Volume 1 on November 26 (four episodes), Volume 2 on Christmas (three episodes), and The Finale on New Year’s Eve.
