Museum Theft: CGI Company Involved in Investigation

The Israeli channel 12 reported that the museum’s management contacted the private company “CGI,” owned by former Shin Bet heads Yaakov Peri and Tzvika Naveh. The aim of the collaboration is to gain their support in tracking down the perpetrators and recovering the items stolen from the museum on Sunday.

According to the channel, the company has evidence indicating the involvement of one of the museum’s security guards in the operation. It is noted that he leaked sensitive information about the surveillance systems, which enabled the thieves to carry out the operation with high precision.

The CEO of the company, Tzvika Naveh, stated that the museum’s management asked them to participate and expose those involved in an exceptional cooperation. He mentioned that his company had previously succeeded in uncovering the perpetrators in the case of the theft of a billion-dollar worth of jewelry from the Dresden Museum in Germany in 2019.

Later on Monday, Western media reported that the Louvre Museum’s management in Paris denied any contact with the Israeli company. A statement from the French Interior Ministry indicated that the thieves executed the operation in about five minutes. They reportedly entered through a window overlooking the Seine River using a maintenance crane and managed to steal rare historical jewels before fleeing on motorcycles.

It is noted that after the crime, French authorities found a golden crown adorned with emeralds and diamonds, belonging to Empress Eugénie, broken near the crime scene.
