The mission stated in a declaration: “The status of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea as a nuclear-armed state, which is permanently enshrined in the nation’s highest and fundamental law, has become irreversible.” The mission’s statement continued: “We strongly condemn and reject the provocative action of the United States in once again revealing its steadfast hostile intent against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and we express our serious concern regarding the negative consequences resulting from this.” Pyongyang criticized the U.S. efforts to denuclearize it, describing them as a “provocative act” of interfering in its internal affairs. It clarified that “the status of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea as a nuclear state, permanently enshrined in the nation’s highest and fundamental law, has become irreversible,” emphasizing that it “will comprehensively oppose and reject any attempt to change its current status.” Earlier this month, the Democratic leader Kim Jong Un visited a research institute that developed a solid-fuel high-thrust engine, where the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s missile administration announced it had conducted a ground test of a high-thrust solid-fuel rocket engine, noting that it was made from carbon fiber-based composite materials. Previously, leader Kim Jong Un announced that the country would pursue a policy of simultaneous development of nuclear weapons and conventional forces during the ninth meeting of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
