These statements were made by Mustafa during a press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty at the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. During the conference, Mustafa clarified the Palestinian National Authority’s efforts to reactivate the state’s institutions in the sector. Mustafa explained that the management of Gaza is not a political gain or a desire for power, but a national responsibility to confront displacement plans, announcing the formation of a committee, emphasizing that the goal is not to create a new entity, but to restore the legitimate Palestinian institutions.

In a related context, the Palestinian Prime Minister revealed ongoing cooperation with Egypt to organize the Gaza Reconstruction Conference in Cairo, reiterating that the Palestine Liberation Organization remains the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.

Abdel Aty explained that his visit to the crossing is a sincere message of solidarity to the Palestinian people, expressing his strong condemnation of the “crimes of the occupation in Gaza, which represent blatant violations of international laws, especially targeting those awaiting humanitarian aid.” The Egyptian minister renewed his country’s categorical rejection of “any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land,” considering Egypt’s position on the Palestinian cause as firm and unwavering.

He also condemned “Israeli statements about what is called Greater Israel,” describing them as “attempts to change facts on the ground.” These statements came within the framework of Egyptian diplomatic and humanitarian movements to contain the crisis in Gaza, as Cairo continues its efforts to address the deteriorating humanitarian situation through the crossing, amid escalating military escalation in the sector.
