Murad explained in an interview with ‘Sputnik’ radio that ‘the beginning was a week ago in the ‘Burj al-Barajneh’ camp, followed by a second round in Tyre (Al-Buss, Al-Rashidieh, Al-Burj Al-Shamali), with the operation set to continue tomorrow in Beirut. This is based on a strategic joint decision between the Lebanese state and the Palestinian state.’
He added, ‘All Palestinian factions acknowledge that they are under the state’s authority and comply with its sovereign decision without objection,’ noting that ‘the security of the camps is a fundamental issue and will remain in the hands of the Palestinian authorities until further notice, from the factions or from the Palestinian National Security and the Liberation Organization, without entering the camps.’
He also affirmed that ‘there is no compromise on this, which is a principle of the dialogue committee and is stipulated in the ministerial statement and the oath speech,’ pointing out the ‘Palestinian interest in the Lebanese state fully assuming its security, military, social, and economic sovereignty within the camps.’
