QR codes on Dubai’s parking signs offer easy payment access, saving motorists 30 fils when using mobile or mParking instead of SMS.

The process is simple—scan the QR code to activate an ‘App Clips’ feature, part of the RTA Dubai App, allowing users to pay the parking fee via their stored bank card.

Digital security experts warn that while QR codes are convenient, they can be exploited by scammers who place fake stickers over real codes. ‘Quishing’ scams use fake QR codes to lead users to malicious sites, potentially accessing their digital wallets. Always check for tampering, misspellings, and untrusted sources before scanning QR codes.
