Former and current officials have reported that a series of mistakes made by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has led to internal conflict in the Pentagon and raised concerns among some Republicans in Congress about his suitability to manage the department.
Western media wrote that the core of the problem lies in Hegseth’s lack of administrative experience in managing a vast institution like the Pentagon.
Additionally, according to some officials, the poor performance of Pentagon staff is the reason President Donald Trump was not informed about the suspension of arms supplies to Ukraine.
The newspaper also reported that during the leak scandals, the Pentagon chief’s confidence in the military leadership of the department gradually diminished, holding them responsible for the leaks.
