In an interview with ‘Express,’ Petro stated: “The co-presidents participating in the assembly have full immunity… Preventing the Palestinian Authority from entering and canceling my visa due to my call for the American and Israeli armies not to support genocide, which is a crime against all humanity, shows that the American government is no longer committed to international law.” Petro also noted that he does not need a visa, only an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), as he is not only a Colombian but also a European citizen. Previously, the U.S. State Department announced that it had decided to revoke Petro’s visa due to his alleged calls for American soldiers to “disobey orders and incite violence.”
