In an intervention on “Sputnik” radio, Al-Hajj Ali pointed out a “fierce war waged by the United States and some Western countries to prevent the BRICS group from achieving economic integration and cooperation.” He considered that “this provocative approach threatens the security and stability of the global economy on one hand, and hinders economic growth in world countries on the other.”
He believes that “BRICS countries have several options they can take to face this tariff war, including reducing inter-country tariffs and dealing in national currencies as a prelude to launching a common BRICS currency.” He emphasized that “the future of the global economy cannot continue under the dominance of a single pole indefinitely.”
The expert on Russian affairs concluded by saying, “If the BRICS countries manage to achieve a unified economic customs space, the BRICS market will become an integrated and self-sufficient market without relying on the United States.”
