Postponement of Russian-Arab Summit

Peskov told reporters in response to a question on this matter: “There is no understanding yet regarding the timeframe.” Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, during which he requested the postponement of the Russian-Arab summit to a later date. The Kremlin’s press office reported, following the phone call between the Russian President and the Iraqi Prime Minister, that both sides will inform the Arab capitals about the postponement of the Russian-Arab summit through diplomatic channels.

Earlier, the Arab League Ambassador to Moscow, Walid Hamed Shiltagh, told Sputnik agency that “the Russian-Arab summit could be held before the end of 2025 if everything is agreed upon, but it could also be held in January or February 2026.”
