The “Ilyushin Il-96” aircraft belonging to the special flight fleet “Russia” landed on Thursday evening, in preparation for the anticipated summit between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The Russian and American presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, will meet in Anchorage on Friday at 22:30 Moscow time. The summit will be held at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base. The meeting will begin face-to-face, then with the participation of delegations, and negotiations will resume over a working breakfast.

The Kremlin and the White House had previously announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump would meet in Alaska on August 15. In addition to Ushakov, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, and the President’s Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries Kirill Dmitriev will participate in the discussions. Putin and Trump will deliver short speeches before the discussions begin, followed by a joint press conference. The Ukrainian crisis will be at the top of the agenda.
