Pyramids owe their victory to their Congolese striker, Fiston Mayele, who shone by scoring a hat-trick in the 21st, 71st, and 75th minutes. Meanwhile, Al Ahly’s sole goal came from the English striker Ivan Toney, via a penalty in the 45th minute. Pyramids had advanced to the final match following their victory in the preliminary round against Auckland City of New Zealand, the Oceania champion, with a score of 3-0 in the match held in Cairo.
Pyramids are now awaiting a new challenge in the tournament, as they will play their next match on December 13th against the winner of the match between Cruz Azul of Mexico, the North American champion, and the South American champion, who will be determined later as part of the Copa Americas Derby.
