Malayalam cinema actor and presenter Rajesh Keshav collapsed on stage during a live event in Kochi on Sunday, August 24, as reported by Indian media.
The 47-year-old is in critical condition after being rushed to a nearby hospital where he underwent angioplasty. Reports indicate he’s on ventilator support.

Filmmaker and friend Prathap Jayalakshmi shared a health update on social media, stating: “Our dear friend Rajesh needs your heartfelt prayers. He collapsed at the end of the event at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kochi, on Sunday night. Within 15-20 minutes, he was taken to Lakeshore Hospital.”

Jayalakshmi noted that doctors confirmed the cardiac arrest occurred when he collapsed on stage, prompting immediate angioplasty. Since then, he hasn’t responded and remains on ventilator support, although there have been minor movements.
Jayalakshmi wrote, “Doctors suspect mild brain damage due to his condition. We’ve realized that what he needs most is our love and prayers. The one who once energized the stage now lies still, reliant on machines. It’s heartbreaking. But we believe he will return if we all hold him in our thoughts. He must come back. He will come back. Please return, my dearest buddy.”
Media reports suggest doctors have observed some brain impairments worsening his condition, despite some heart improvement. A proper health assessment requires at least 72 hours.
