The Civil Protection statement on social media read: “An incident involving the crash of a Zelin reconnaissance aircraft, belonging to Civil Protection, occurred at Ferhat Abbas Airport in Jijel Province during a training mission. This resulted in the death of 4 individuals who were performing their professional duties.
In February/March 2022, a military fighter jet of type ‘Mig 29’ crashed shortly after taking off from the Bou Sfer Air Base in the west of the country, where one of the two pilots on board lost his life.”
