Roscosmos Shares Astronauts’ National Day Message

The Russian space agency, Roscosmos, released footage of the astronauts congratulating their compatriots on this national occasion. Regikov said, “The white, blue, and red colors, recognizable worldwide, have long surpassed Earth and are represented here aboard the International Space Station, where we work for the benefit of our country and all humanity.” Zubritsky noted that “the Russian flag symbolizes the unity of nearly 200 peoples living on the country’s territory.” The Russian astronaut added, “The flag represents our pursuit of progress, our strength, and our unity. These are the qualities that have allowed us to maintain our sovereignty for centuries,” adding that “the flag reminds the astronauts aboard the International Space Station of their homeland and family.” Platonov stated, “On Earth and in space, we live under one banner. Under one banner, we win in sports, and under one banner, we soar into space. We are all different, but under one banner. Together, we move forward.”
