New York – Sputnik. Moscow has repeatedly affirmed that pressuring Russia regarding the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis is futile, highlighting its firm stance on the ceasefire. Sikorski told Sputnik on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York: “We expect Russia to agree,” adding that Kyiv, according to his information, agrees to this ceasefire. On Wednesday, Vladimir Zelensky announced that Ukraine is ready to cease fire.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov previously stated that Russia is ready to discuss the political aspects of the settlement with Ukraine and work in any form. However, Moscow has not yet received a response from Kyiv to its proposal to establish three working committees to address humanitarian, military, and political issues, which it proposed in the Istanbul negotiations in 2022.
Zelensky also rejected the invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to go to Moscow to discuss the situation.
