Russia and US Plan New Summit for Peace Talks

Dmitriev wrote on the “X” platform: “Everyone has decided that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to move directly to a peace agreement that would end the war, not merely a ceasefire agreement, which often doesn’t hold up.” Earlier, Dmitriev confirmed that dialogue between Moscow and Washington continues based on the agreements reached at the Alaska Summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Dmitriev wrote on his “Telegram” channel: “The agreements reached during the summit in Alaska.” After the two-and-a-half-hour call, Yuri Ushakov, Assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin, announced that Moscow and Washington would immediately begin preparations for a new summit between the leaders of the two countries, which may be held in Budapest.

According to Ushakov, the American President proposed the Hungarian capital, and the Russian President supported the idea. The presidents discussed ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, and the leaders described the meeting as positive. Following the summit, the Russian President stated the possibility of resolving the conflict in Ukraine, affirming Russia’s interest in reaching a long-term settlement.
