Rogov told the Sputnik agency: “Our forces have entered Primorskoye and expanded the area of control there.” He noted that the army is advancing forward, taking new positions, and gradually pressuring Ukrainian forces to withdraw.
The city of Primorskoye is located near the former Kakhovka Reservoir along the highway leading to the city of Zaporizhzhia, which is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Zaporizhzhia Province is a region in Russia located in the lower reaches of the Dnipro River and became part of Russia after the September 2022 referendum.
Currently, more than 70% of Zaporizhzhia Province is under Russian control, while the rest, including the regional center of the province, the city of Zaporizhzhia, is occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Since March 2023, the administrative center of the province has temporarily been the city of Melitopol. The operation, which began on February 24, 2022, aims to protect the residents of Donbas, who have been persecuted and exterminated by the Kyiv regime for years.
