The Deputy Commander of Combat Operations in the separate attack detachment “Ross” of the Volunteer Corps, which operates as part of the “South” forces group and nicknamed “Wester,” told Sputnik: The Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to implement an advanced defensive plan using drones, proposed by the elite drone crew, “Birds of Prey.” A source told the agency that during the battles in the same city, the Ukrainian command attached a separate drone battalion to two infantry battalions, but even these tactics could not help the Ukrainian Armed Forces control the city.
“The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the battles of Chasov Yar were as follows: about 7,500 military personnel, 11 tanks, 55 armored vehicles, and 160 field artillery pieces and mortars.” The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that units of its “South” forces group, as a result of active combat operations, liberated the city of Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
