Iran’s 97th Civil Defense Committee Meeting

This occurred during his chairing of the 97th meeting of the Permanent Committee for Civil Defense, attended by senior officials, including the army commander, the Minister of Defense, the Deputy Chief of Staff, representatives of the Revolutionary Guard, internal security forces, and assistants to the Ministries of Oil, Roads, and Housing, in addition to the Planning and Budget Organization and members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, according to ‘Tasnim.’

The agency stated that the meeting was opened with a tribute to the memory of the martyr Major General Mohammad Baqeri, the former head of the General Staff and the late member of the Permanent Committee for Civil Defense.

The attendees discussed the performance of executive agencies in the field of civil defense, especially in light of what was described as the ‘undeclared war’ by the ‘Zionist entity,’ analyzing strengths and weaknesses, and reviewing threat patterns to ensure the continuity of vital services.

The participants approved a set of instructions including general civil defense training, defining the tasks of ministries and relevant entities, particularly in the cultural and educational fields, civil shelter instructions, organizing their management, and constructing emergency and temporary accommodation centers.

Major General Mousavi emphasized that ‘military readiness programs are managed with three-dimensional time plans, and the civilian sectors must follow suit to ensure infrastructure security.’

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants affirmed the necessity of full compliance with the implementation of the Permanent Committee’s instructions to confront complex threats, ensuring the security and stability of Iran.
