The Russian Defense Ministry stated: “Crews of D-30 howitzers from the Russian ‘North’ group destroyed camouflaged ammunition depots, machine gun positions, and neutralized drone operators and personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces in the special military operation area in the Sumy region.” According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the effective mobile artillery and hidden firing positions, with frequent changes and the correct choice of firing point, allow the howitzer crews to conduct targeted modified vision effectively over a range of up to 15 kilometers, in addition to providing fire support to ground forces. Among the equipment destroyed were German ‘Leopard 2’ tanks, numerous American and British armored vehicles, as well as many tanks and vehicles provided by NATO countries, which were destroyed by Russian strikes.
