In a conversation with ‘Sputnik’ radio, Uthman pointed out that the Russian side has shown a great deal of patience in the face of escalating statements, especially with the European intransigence regarding the ceasefire. He considered that the purpose of this stubbornness is to impose a temporary peace formula paving the way for a new war within 5 or 6 years, which might obstruct Witkov’s visit.
The researcher in Russian and European affairs noted that there is no point in the visit while waiting for a Russian concession, highlighting the American retreat from the policy of exaggeration and the realization that sanctions imposed on Russia’s allies will be ineffective.
He emphasized that any new American initiative must include clear European guarantees. Uthman concluded by noting that continuing the path started in Jeddah, which was completed in the last round in Turkey, could lead to peace and end the Ukrainian crisis, after Ukraine lost its direction, and Zelensky led his people down a path that neither wants peace nor prosperity.
The special envoy of President Donald Trump is in the Russian capital, Moscow, today, Wednesday, to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a ‘Sputnik’ correspondent.
