The correspondent noted that the flags of Russia and India have been raised in the square, and a small platform for the leaders has been set up. Meanwhile, the arrangement of the red carpet dedicated to the ceremony is currently being completed. The Russian President arrived in India yesterday, and an official reception ceremony is scheduled for Friday morning in the square in front of the palace, attended by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and her Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The presidential palace, Rashtrapati Bhavan, is the official residence of the President of India and forms the heart of the administrative complex in New Delhi. The palace was built in 1929 as the residence for the British Viceroy in India, designed by English architect Edwin Lutyens. The palace is an example of architecture sometimes known as the Anglo-Indian style, combining grandeur with bright decorations inspired by Eastern arches and domes, covering a total area of 132 hectares.
In the square in front of the palace, the Jaipur Column rises, a gift from the ruler of the Jaipur principality to the British Viceroy in India. On the opposite side extends the Eternal Garden, previously known as the Mughal Garden, which blends Eastern and European styles in its design, featuring ponds, canals, and fountain waterfalls, in addition to green spaces, paved paths, and flower beds.
