A report by the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that strategic missile carriers of the type “Tu-95MS,” belonging to the Russian long-range air force, conducted a planned flight in the airspace above the neutral waters of the Barents Sea.

The report added that the flight lasted more than 4 hours, and the bombers were accompanied by a “Su-33” fighter jet belonging to the Russian Navy.

The Russian Defense Ministry noted that all flights by Russian Aerospace Forces’ aircraft are conducted in accordance with strict international rules for the use of airspace.

Russian long-range strategic bombers regularly fly over international waters, including the North Atlantic, the Pacific Ocean, the Baltic Sea, and the Black Sea.
