Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently opened up about his personal life, discussing a significant health scare during the premiere of Two Much With Kajol & Twinkle on Amazon Prime.

Making a first-time appearance on the show, Salman was joined by his longtime friend and former co-star Aamir Khan, sharing insights into his life and career.

Salman revealed his battle with ‘Trigeminal Neuralgia,’ a debilitating neurological disorder that caused him intense pain, severely impacting his daily life.

“It’s something you must endure. Many live with heart surgeries and other conditions. My trigeminal neuralgia pain was unbearable, not something you’d wish on your worst enemy,” he shared. “I endured it for seven-and-a-half years with pain striking every 4-5 minutes, often without warning.”

Salman recounted how even simple tasks were challenging, taking him over an hour to finish breakfast.

“Eating an omelette was a struggle. I’d force myself through the pain to complete a meal,” he explained.

On the show, Salman disclosed taking 750 mg of painkillers, initially thinking it was a dental issue. “I was asked when the pain ceased, and it reduced slightly but returned after a drink. That’s when they realized it was nerve-related,” he elaborated.

The actor reminisced about an incident on his 2007 film, Partner, saying, “Lara (Dutta) brushed a hair off my face, and I felt pain. I joked, ‘Wow Lara, you’re electrifying!’ That’s when it began.”

Although his condition has improved, Salman confessed to still dealing with health issues like an aneurysm and arteriovenous malformation.

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a chronic pain disorder characterized by sudden, severe facial pain attacks, affecting the trigeminal nerve, which controls sensation in the face and head.
