In Abu Dhabi, the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (Savi) Cluster is set to generate 40,000 high-skill jobs in strategic sectors over the next 20 years.
Initiated by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (Adio), Savi focuses on mobility solutions, including autonomous vehicles, eVTOL aircraft, maritime systems, and robotics.
“The Savi cluster significantly boosts the emirate’s GDP. By 2045, it is expected to contribute around Dh44 billion and create 40,000 jobs across air, land, and sea domains, plus robotics,” stated Ali Al Musawa AlHashmi, Savi cluster specialist at Adio.

“The cluster will generate highly skilled job opportunities throughout the value chain, from R&D to prototyping, testing autonomous vehicles, and manufacturing components for mass production. This extends to deployment, operations, and maintenance,” AlHashmi explained at the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit 2025.
AlHashmi also mentioned that Savi has inked deals for 29 commercial projects in key sectors. “One area is cargo and logistics. These partnerships will transform technologies from prototypes into practical applications in daily life.”

Numerous senior officials from the public and private sectors, specializing in autonomous vehicles, drones, and eVTOLs, attended the summit, showcasing solutions from local and global companies.
Abu Dhabi’s advanced industries are poised to be key economic drivers, with significant investment from the government and foreign direct investment in these sectors.
Furthermore, Abu Dhabi and the UAE are advancing towards a knowledge-based economy to fuel future growth.
AlHashmi highlighted that Savi is nurturing an ecosystem for every part of the value chain. “For startups, we have Hub 71 for business incubation and R&D. The Advanced Technology Research Council and Mohammed bin Zayed University for AI support research in smart autonomous systems,” he noted.
