During the conference, the most shocking figures and data documented in the report were reviewed. Maysam Butari, a member of the administrative body of the committee, pointed out that in the first half of this year, there were 536 violations, an increase of nearly 50% compared to the same period in 2024. She emphasized that these figures reflect a systematic policy aimed at “silencing journalists and erasing the Palestinian narrative.”
For his part, journalist Ahmed Sheldan noted in his intervention that the situation is “daily and doubling,” as they work in a dangerous environment and are directly targeted while performing their duty.
The Journalists Support Committee concluded its conference by calling for urgent international intervention to protect journalists, affirming its commitment to continue monitoring, documenting violations, and raising them to international human rights forums.
