Simple Habits to Prevent Sedentary Lifestyle Risks

The study, published by ‘News Medical’, included 64 adults leading sedentary lives and facing increased risks of heart disease and diabetes. Instead of following intensive exercise programs, participants were encouraged to integrate standing and light movement into their daily routine to reduce sitting time.

Dr. Taro Garthwaite from the University of Turku in Finland explained that a healthy body burns energy at rest, while it relies on carbohydrates after meals or during high-intensity exercises.

The study concluded that simple daily habits, such as standing and light movement, can have a significant positive impact on health, particularly in preventing issues associated with a sedentary lifestyle.
