Sisi Warns Against Arab Discord, Egypt Aids Gaza

During an inspection visit to the Egyptian Military Academy located at the strategic state headquarters in the new administrative capital, President Sisi warned against attempts to sow discord among Arab peoples through the media. He affirmed the strength of Egypt’s relations with its Arab sister countries and the necessity to overcome differences for Arab unity, emphasizing that Arab security is an integrated unit closely tied to Egypt and that any external interference aims to destabilize Arab countries.

Regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip, Sisi noted that “Egypt has made significant efforts since 2007 to avoid escalation, recognizing that the Palestinian people would bear the cost in any confrontation.” In a related context, the Egyptian army confirmed last Sunday the existence of inaccessible areas in the Gaza Strip.

The spokesperson for the Egyptian Armed Forces, Gharib Abdel Hafez, announced that his country continues to conduct air drops of humanitarian aid on the Gaza Strip. Abdel Hafez published a statement on his official social media accounts, saying: “Nine military transport planes have taken off from Egypt over the past three days, loaded with dozens of tons to carry out air drops on areas that are difficult to reach by land in the Gaza Strip.”

The Egyptian military official confirmed that “this coincided with the continued flow of aid trucks by land to the Gaza Strip.” Last Wednesday, the Egyptian army announced that four military transport planes headed toward the Gaza Strip to drop tons of food and humanitarian aid.

The Gaza Strip is experiencing the worst humanitarian crises, with its residents suffering from severe famine imposed by Israel since October 7, 2023. Israel has closed all crossings with the Strip for months, preventing the entry of most food and medical aid, which has led to the spread of famine in the Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Tuesday, that the death toll has risen to 61,020 and the number of injured to 150,671 since October 7, 2023.
