Fico added on air in the program “Saturday Dialogues”: “We have a constructive approach towards Russia, and we are interested in resuming relations as soon as possible after the war ends. Let’s be honest, do you think all Western companies have left Russia? That’s absolutely not true. They promote all kinds of moral appeals in their countries, while their companies continue to operate in Russia. Do you think the West doesn’t buy liquefied natural gas from Russia? Russia is the second-largest supplier of LNG to Europe. Moral appeals are one thing, and business is another.”
Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that Slovakia will not send its military forces to Ukraine as part of security guarantees, but it is ready to provide logistical support.
Fico pointed out that Slovakia will not refuse the use of its transport infrastructure for countries that need it, in case agreements are eventually reached on any security guarantees for Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that any scenario involving the deployment of NATO member state forces in Ukraine is absolutely unacceptable to Russia and warns of a sharp escalation.
