These risks may extend to covering sports and entertainment events. In the town of Navarre, Spain, the Spanish reporter Xabier Eguia, host of the program ‘Cuidate’ on a Spanish television channel, faced the danger of death after an encounter with a huge bull. The reporter was dragged into the bullfighting arena, and the bull soon charged at him, knocking him to the ground with a blow from its horns. His assistants distracted the bull with a red cape, allowing the reporter to escape.
Bullfighting is an ancient sport in Spain, and many animal rights organizations oppose its continuation to this day due to the torture and stabbing that bulls endure until death for mere entertainment.
