Syrian Airlines to Resume Flights to Libya

In a press statement on Monday, the authority said: “Based on continuous efforts and in response to calls from Syrians in Libya, Syrian Airlines will operate until the necessary arrangements for regular operation are completed.” The head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Ashhad Al-Saleeby, revealed at a press conference last week that direct flights between Syria and Libya will resume on board starting next week. The routes will be as follows: Damascus/Tripoli – Benghazi, Aleppo/Tripoli – Benghazi. The airport’s departure operations have been restored since the beginning of this year, after its complete rehabilitation following its closure after the departure of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government on December 8th last year. Activity has gradually returned under technical, security, and logistical measures overseen by the interim authorities in Syria.
