Mousavi’s statements came during a phone call with Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense, following the aggression that Doha faced from the Zionist entity, according to Fars News Agency. At the beginning of the call, Mousavi strongly condemned the Israeli attack, describing it as a “criminal and condemned act,” noting that senior Iranian officials rejected this aggression from the very first moment. He also highlighted the call made by the Iranian president with the Emir of Qatar, confirming that the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces also condemned this attack in an official statement. The Iranian Chief of Staff warned of the Western role, saying that “the continuous American and Western support for the Zionist entity, especially in suppressing the Palestinian people, is the reason for its persistence and boldness to launch such aggressions.” He added, “Without this support, the entity would not have been able to continue or carry out its aggression against Qatar.” Mousavi confirmed the readiness of the Iranian armed forces for full cooperation with the Qatari side on all levels, stressing that “the Islamic Republic of Iran will stand by Qatar until the end.” For his part, Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani described the Israeli attack on his country as a “terrorist act and a stab in the back,” confirming that the aggression came at a sensitive time coinciding with talks aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement for the Gaza issue, conducted at the request and coordination of various parties. He also expressed appreciation for the positions and solidarity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, both in this incident and during previous stages, pointing out the importance of continued consultation between the two countries to reach practical solutions that ensure the security and stability of the region. The Qatari official concluded his remarks by emphasizing the importance of the upcoming meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, expressing hope that it will achieve tangible results that reflect on the ground and compel Israel to stop its aggressive policies. The Israeli army said in a statement last Tuesday: “The IDF and the ‘Shin Bet’, through the Air Force, have just precisely targeted the leadership of the Hamas movement.” The Israeli army continued in its statement: “The army and the ‘Shin Bet’ will continue to work diligently until the elimination of the Hamas organization responsible for October 7.” Earlier, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir threatened to eliminate Hamas leaders abroad amidst the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
