Western media reported on Sunday morning that the spokesperson urged the Philippines to immediately stop causing incidents and escalating tensions in the South China Sea. He added that Chinese forces will continue to defend the country’s sovereignty in the region, warning the Philippines against any provocations.

Earlier, the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command stated in a release that the United States, Japan, and the Philippines conducted joint naval exercises in the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone from September 11 to 13, aimed at enhancing regional cooperation and supporting a free and open region.

The exercises, named “Resolute Dragon 25,” were intended to test defense scenarios on the southern, central, and northern fronts, and for the first time included a trial of the American medium-range missile system “Typhoon.”

According to Japan’s Ministry of Defense, the maneuvers involved more than 14,000 troops from Japan’s Self-Defense Forces and about 5,000 personnel from the U.S. forces, including the Marine Corps, Army, Navy, and Air Force.

These exercises have caused international and domestic concern in Japan, with both China and Russia expressing their opposition to the deployment of the “Typhoon” system, warning that such actions destabilize the region and accelerate the arms race.

Within Japan, the Kyushu branch of the Japanese Social Democratic Party protested, particularly against the deployment of around 10 “Osprey” aircraft at the Kanoya base, urging the Japanese government to oppose these maneuvers and promote peace through dialogue and diplomacy.
