Terrorist Attack Foiled in Novosibirsk

The Russian Federal Security Service stated: “Employees of the Russian Federal Security Service in the Novosibirsk region, along with military counterintelligence officers in Novosibirsk, prevented a terrorist attack against an official in the Russian Judicial Administration, where they attempted to set fire to his house.” The statement added that “the Russian Federal Security Service in the Novosibirsk region, together with military counterintelligence officers, thwarted the commission of a terrorist act against an official in the Russian Judicial Administration in the Novosibirsk region.” The Federal Security Service pointed out that the accused chose to commit terrorist acts as a means of personal revenge. The investigation department of the Russian Federal Security Service for the Novosibirsk region opened a criminal case against a resident of Novosibirsk on the grounds of a crime under part 3 of article 30 and part 1 of article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code (attempted terrorist act), and the defendant was arrested, with the court choosing a preventive measure of detention for two months.
