The World Padel Academy (WPA) hosted the Tooba Padel Cup on October 4, bringing together professional athletes, padel enthusiasts, and philanthropists for a charitable day of sports and social impact. The tournament featured 14 doubles teams in a single-elimination format, raising funds via the Tooba mobile app in partnership with the Al Jalila Foundation to aid families in need across the UAE.
The Tooba Padel Cup followed an exciting single-elimination bracket, with each match using the Fast4 format — one set to four games, a tiebreak to seven points at 3-all, and no-ad scoring to maintain a competitive and engaging pace. Throughout the day, 14 doubles teams battled through knockout rounds leading to the semifinals and finals. The event concluded with an awards ceremony and a charity auction of exclusive signed memorabilia from participating athletes, with proceeds benefiting the Al Jalila Foundation through Tooba’s platform.
“At World Padel Academy, sport transcends competition; it’s about connection, wellness, and making a lasting impact,” said Ali Al Arif, CEO of World Padel Academy. “Hosting the Tooba Padel Cup embodies our belief in sport’s power to unite people and support causes that truly make a difference in our community.”
Tooba is an international charitable platform that allows direct contributions to verified causes and communities in need. “Tooba makes giving simple and targeted: anyone, anywhere, can help those in need worldwide. Over $40 million has been donated through Tooba, benefiting over 700,000 people. We are thankful to World Padel Academy, our partners, and guests. Together, we’re transforming sport into real impact,” said Ramazan Medzhidov, founder of Tooba.
This collaboration united the spirit of competition, wellness, and compassion — merging World Padel Academy’s top-tier sporting infrastructure and community-oriented ethos with Tooba’s innovative donation technology and Al Jalila Foundation’s impactful charitable work. Together, the partners showcased how sport can surpass recreation, creating meaningful social change and inspiring purpose-driven initiatives in the UAE.
