An alarming traffic accident occurred on Al Nahda Street in Dubai, near the metro station, when a vehicle unexpectedly swerved off its path, causing the driver to lose control.
The truck collided with a bus stop, injuring two individuals inside. One suffered severe injuries, while the other sustained moderate injuries. Both victims were swiftly transported to the hospital for medical care.
Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, reported that a notification about the accident was received by the Operations Room, leading to the immediate dispatch of traffic patrols to secure the scene and manage traffic flow.
“Experts from the Traffic Accidents Department arrived to conduct a technical analysis and gather evidence, working alongside rescue and ambulance teams to efficiently transport the injured and remove the damaged vehicle and debris from the site,” he stated.
Brig. Bin Suwaidan mentioned that the accident temporarily disrupted traffic on Al Nahda Street. “However, traffic patrols quickly redirected vehicles to alternative routes to minimize congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow,” he added.
He emphasized the vital importance of drivers adhering to traffic rules and remaining vigilant on the road, noting that sudden lane changes are a leading cause of serious accidents. He also urged drivers to perform regular vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and protect their safety and that of other road users.
Brig. Bin Suwaidan reaffirmed that Dubai Police is actively conducting awareness campaigns to enhance traffic safety among drivers, aiming to reduce dangerous behaviors that could lead to severe accidents. He urged everyone to act responsibly and drive cautiously, especially in busy areas and near bus stops and metro stations.
