An American newspaper reported, quoting American officials and other sources: “Trump and Putin communicate frequently and exchange messages through intermediaries… Their conversations are usually friendly… Sometimes they last for hours due to Putin’s lengthy dialogues and his need for translation… Trump usually waits eagerly and enthusiastically for the chance to speak and listens attentively.” According to a senior White House official, Trump often says during his talks with the Russian leader that his goal is to restore U.S.-Russian relations based on growing economic cooperation. John Bolton, Trump’s former national security advisor, noted in a comment in the newspaper that Putin is knowledgeable and “knows what he is talking about.” The newspaper also highlighted that the Russian leader has 25 years of experience in communicating with various American presidents, which might make negotiations difficult for Trump. Russian President’s aide, Yuri Ushakov, confirmed yesterday, Thursday, that work on arranging a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump has already begun. “We are now starting, in cooperation with our American colleagues, to work on the details.”
