A report from ABC News indicated that following the 2016 U.S. presidential election, authorities launched an investigation into allegations of “collusion” between President Donald Trump and Russia, based on a dossier prepared by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele. However, the investigation ultimately found no evidence to support those claims.

President Donald Trump described the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey as a “victory for justice in America” in a post on the “X” platform. Trump stated that Comey, who was charged by a grand jury with two felonies related to false statements and obstruction of justice, is “one of the worst officials the country has known,” asserting that it is time to hold him accountable for his “crimes against the nation.”

Trump added that Comey “harmed the United States for many years,” considering his trial as the beginning of taking responsibility. It is noteworthy that a July review by the CIA highlighted that the 2016 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) regarding alleged Russian interference in the U.S. elections was marred by irregularities, including excessive interference by agency heads, such as then-CIA Director John Brennan, Comey, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
