In his speech before the Israeli Knesset, Trump addressed his special envoy, Steve Witkoff: “First, we need to finish the Russian file. We need to resolve this issue. If you don’t mind, Steve, let’s focus on Russia.” Trump added that his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, after visiting Moscow and having a five-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, informed him that he discussed “many interesting matters” with Putin. Trump continued: “We need to focus on the conflict in Ukraine before reaching an agreement with Iran.” Earlier, US President Donald Trump arrived in Israel for a short visit following the return of Israeli hostages who were released alive from the Gaza Strip. The visit comes shortly after the US president announced that the war in Gaza had ended as he made his way to Israel and then to Egypt, where he will chair a “Peace Summit” in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh today, Monday.
