The Egyptian considered that the ‘ideology of complete chaos’ is a fundamental element of Trump’s current policy, explaining that he deliberately makes contradictory statements as part of media campaigns aimed at pressuring all parties, while seeking to avoid direct military confrontation and reach a peace deal based on compromises, keeping the United States in the position of a ‘neutral mediator.’ He pointed out that Trump’s contradictory statements about drones are merely ‘media maneuvers’ to achieve moral gains. The Egyptian explained that ‘Zelensky is trying to draw in Europeans to obtain early security guarantees in order to continue the conflict and regain territories, something Moscow categorically rejects.’ He noted that ‘Trump is betting on exhausting the Europeans and pushing them to accept this scenario, given their inability to achieve field gains, compared to the economic gains the United States will achieve after ending the conflict.’ He also touched on the Russian initiative regarding the extension of the new START treaty, emphasizing that ‘the interest of both parties lies in extending the agreement, as an uncontrolled arms race will harm everyone,’ noting that the rapprochement between Moscow and Washington falls under the framework of ‘balance of terror,’ which aims to achieve gains and paves the way for signing the agreement, even if after a while.
