At a press conference marking the annual celebration of World Human Rights Day on December 10, Turk renewed his condemnation of the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza. This includes the bombing of individuals approaching the “yellow line,” residential buildings, displaced persons’ tents, their shelters, and other civilian targets, as mentioned by the official from the “United Nations.” Turk affirmed that Security Council Resolution 2803 of 2025 is “crystal clear” in not recognizing any borders or lines but relates to land that must be fully respected. He referred to the resolution adopted by the council on November 17 to support a comprehensive plan to end the conflict. He called on all parties to immediately adhere to the ceasefire and ensure a smooth transition to the next phase of the peace plan.

He expressed deep concern over the unprecedented escalation of attacks by the Israeli military and settlers on Palestinians and their properties, stating, “This is a time to intensify pressure and advocacy, not a time to surrender to complacency with the status quo.”

Warning of War Crimes in Sudan: Regarding Sudanese affairs, Turk warned of the potential for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity amidst ongoing fighting with no signs of de-escalation.

World Human Rights Day is celebrated annually on December 10 around the world. This day is dedicated to commemorating one of the most significant global commitments in history: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which enshrines the inalienable rights everyone is entitled to simply by being human, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, language, political opinion, or other status. This declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on December 10, 1948, marking the first time fundamental rights that must be universally protected were set out.

Described as a “common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations,” the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a global blueprint for international, national, and local laws and policies and a solid foundation for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
