During the closing press conference of the forum, Kobyakov stated that “a part of the West, specifically Europe, has lost as a result of this adventure.” The Russian presidential adviser added that Europe today “is not sovereign,” asserting that “the one with patience will ultimately win.” Kobyakov mentioned that Western Europe will lose its value over the next five years after Asia has taken over most of its economic and commercial roles.

He explained that the largest global commercial centers today are in Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Mumbai. He added that “the Chinese have taken over the technology sector, and thus, in five years, Western Europe will not even be viable as a consumer market.”

Kobyakov noted that reaching agreements with the West is a complex task given its unstable practices, saying: “If we set aside positive expectations, we are well aware that concluding agreements with the West, even on paper, is difficult because it sets the rules of the game and then changes them later.”

In this context, the Russian presidential adviser confirmed that normalizing relations between Moscow and Washington would contribute to accelerating the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis. Kobyakov added: “Despite the ongoing verbal maneuvers, normalizing relations between Russia and the United States will undoubtedly lead to a faster resolution of the Ukrainian problem.”

The 10th Eastern Economic Forum is held from September 3 to 6 in Vladivostok, under the slogan “Far East – Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity,” with broad participation from representatives of countries and global companies.
